Indoor coil
Has to be replacedYour existing R-410A indoor coil cannot stay. Carrier states that full furnace coils are not interchangeable and that the refrigerant the indoor coil is designed for must match the outdoor unit's.
Not checked: your own coil against this unit. That needs its model number, which is on the coil label inside the air handler or furnace cabinet.

Can stay, with conditionsYour copper can normally stay. Carrier says there is no system-side reason to replace a line set, because R-454B uses the same POE oil as R-410A — but it puts the decision under your building code.
- The line set continues to meet the local building code in force, which is what Carrier makes the reuse conditional on.
- In high-rise buildings, Carrier states that fire breaks will be required on the refrigerant run.
Not checked: your line size. The 27VNA0 uses 3/8" liquid with 3/4" or 7/8" or 1-1/8" suction, by capacity, and you have not measured the outside diameter of both copper lines.

What the documents say about this model
ManufacturerCarrier holds this family to 200 feet of total equivalent line length, and to 200 feet of actual length whichever way the units sit. That figure is published for this family and it is not a tier-wide number — it has to be read off the sheet for the unit actually being fitted.
ManufacturerCarrier builds this family in four capacities — 2, 3, 4 and 5 ton — where the R-410A Infinity heat pump it replaces was sold in eight. There is no 1 ton, no 2.5 and no 3.5, so a house that had one of those sizes is being offered a different capacity, not the same one in a new refrigerant.
ManufacturerCarrier publishes this family's condenser fan as a range — 200 to 1000 rpm on the 2 ton, 200 to 825 on the rest — rather than as a single speed. The fan varies with the compressor, which is why the sheet gives airflow as a maximum rather than a rating and why the quiet figure it publishes is a low-speed one.
ManufacturerThe sound accessory for this family is not a compressor blanket. Carrier lists KSASH2801COP and KSASH2901COP, both described as accumulator blankets, split by size. On a variable-speed heat pump the noise worth wrapping is not in the same part of the cabinet.
ManufacturerCondenser coil face area runs 12.5, 19.4, 27.6 and 27.6 square feet across the four capacities. The 4 and 5 ton share a coil, and share a circuit count of 11 and a maximum airflow of 5250 CFM — the 5 ton is the 4 ton's cabinet asked for more.
ManufacturerEvery size of this family leaves the factory with the same instrumentation, and none of it is an upgrade: suction and discharge pressure transducers, a high pressure switch, in-unit pressure and temperature protection, an outdoor air temperature sensor, compressor stator heat, an air-cooling variable frequency drive, utility interface connections, a Bluetooth module, energy tracking and enhanced diagnostics through Greenspeed. A unit that measures its own suction and discharge pressures can tell an installer the line set is wrong, which older equipment could not.
ManufacturerThe 200 foot ceiling is the same in every layout, but the height is not. Carrier allows 100 feet of vertical separation with the outdoor unit above the indoor one and 80 feet with it below. On a house where the condenser sits below the air handler — a basement air handler, or a unit on a slope — the usable height is a fifth shorter than the headline figure.
ManufacturerOn the 3/8 inch liquid line this family uses, Carrier treats the system as long line beyond 80 feet on the same level or with the outdoor unit above, and beyond 20 feet of vertical separation with it below. Crossing that threshold normally means buying accessories to manage the refrigerant. Carrier states plainly that these heat pumps do not require any: the capability is in the unit, so long line here is a length to design for rather than a kit to add.
