The 24SCA5 is an R-410A air conditioner — Carrier's Comfort tier, single-stage, with a coastal option. R-410A equipment stopped being manufactured after 31 December 2024, so there is no new one of these to buy — but that does not mean your only option is a whole new system.

ManufacturerCarrier's product data for the 24SCA5 rates every capacity on a 3/8 inch liquid line. The vapour line is 3/4 inch at 1.5, 2 and 2.5 tons, 7/8 inch from 3 through 4 tons, and 1-1/8 inch at 5 tons.
ManufacturerThe sheet does not give this family one efficiency number. It publishes a range that depends on which indoor unit the outdoor unit is matched with: 14.3 to 16 SEER2 at 1.5 through 3 tons, and 13.8 to 15 SEER2 from 3.5 through 5 tons. The rating a homeowner was sold belonged to a pair, not to the box outside.

DistributorCarrier Enterprise's 2025 equipment transition guide lists the 24SCA5 as an R-410A Comfort-tier air conditioner: a single-stage unit, sold for all regions. A coastal option was offered. The guide's Puron Advance column for this row is 26SCA5.
